FAQ 1 : Terminal Operations Coordinator

Your Role

 

  • Conscious of the priority H&S has in work processes, you will ensure the company's Health & Safety standards and procedures are respected throughout all interventions and the team operates safely at all times.
  • You will build and maintain an excellent customer relationship with our clients and ensure their needs and requirements are attended to efficiently. In this respect, you will ensure the optimization of the delivery lead-time.
  • You will assist the Cement Operations Manager in the logistics planning and supply chain management and ensure a proper monitoring of the delivery schedules and stock management.
  • You will assist the Cement Operations Manager in implementing the short term and long term strategies and working toward the achievement of the KPIs.
  • You will ensure reports are completed as per deadlines
  • You will coordinate daily manpower planning and, in your role of leader, drive the team towards higher levels of performance.
  • You will closely monitor the industrial performance of the terminal and assist in performance/efficiency organization
  • You will ensure company's procedures including Human Resources and disciplinary processes are maintained

 

Your Profile

  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience in a factory/operations environment within the construction sector.
  • Holder of a Degree in Management, Engineering or Operations.
  • Good communication skills with an excellent knowledge of French and English, written and spoken.
  • Excellent leadership and negotiation skills.
  • Very comfortable with basic Microsoft Office Tools
  • Ability to work under pressure and at odd hours

FAQ 2 : Health & Safety Executive

Your Role

 

  • Conscious of the priority H&S has in work processes, you will ensure that the company's Health & Safety standards and procedures are respected throughout all interventions and that the team operates safely at all times.
  • Passionate and culture-driven, you will be a key lever in making the H&S vision of the company live and last.
  • Fully conversant with the OSHA 2005, you will ensure that the company's H&S processes and systems are in fully compliant with the legislations at all times. In the same line, you will assist the H&S Manager in the preparation of the surveillance audit for OHSAS 18001.
  • Hands-on, with a wide experience in field, you will be expected to conduct regular site visits.
  • You will be expected to perform inspections on our cement and concrete sites as well as risks assessments on a regular basis for various tasks linked to our business operations.
  • You will have the responsibility to engage in regular H&S dialogue with employees and to leverage these discussions for continuous improvement of our H&S practices.
  • You will participate in the H&S committees for our cement and concrete activities.
  • You will be expected to deliver regular on the job / off the job H&S training to employees and contractors.
  • With the Department Heads and Supervisors, you will ensure the proper follow up of H&S action plans on all sites
  • You will conduct H&S induction sessions for new recruits, contractors and visitors as and when required.
  • You will promote the sharing of best practices across sites and other countries where Lafarge is present.
  • Analytical and detailed-focus, you will perform daily, weekly and monthly local and group reporting within assigned deadlines and be fully accountable for same.
  • You will be expected to conduct investigations and root cause analyses on first aid incidents, medical injuries, near misses and work-related injuries, based on which you will propose corrective actions.
  • With the project Manager, you will be expected to drive the H&S audits in respect of any industrial project.
  • You will be in charge of the Company Doctor's contract and schedule and will ensure the employees' medical files are kept confidentially. You will ensure the Doctor performs the required tests and exams for employees (Eg: Noise monitoring, Medical examination for new recruits, Dust Monitoring etc.) as and when required and that reports are submitted in due course.

 

Your Profile

  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience in a factory environment, preferably within the construction sector.
  • Holder of an undergraduate degree in Health & Safety and a registered trainer. A relevant post graduate degree shall be an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills with good knowledge of French and English, written and spoken.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Very comfortable with basic Microsoft Office Tools
  • Valid driving license

FAQ 3 : Projects Leader

Purpose

To ensure projects are planned, executed and completed on time while ensuring budget, quality and the project's objectives are met.

 

Your Role in Project Management

 

  • Define the scope and establish conceptual designs of the project in collaboration with management
  • Ensure success of project by focusing on 4 pillars namely Health & Safety, Cost, Time, and Quality.
  • Create detailed work plan and determine the resources required for proper execution of the projects
  • Prepare project budgets and ensure that same are respected
  • Meet financial objectives by forecasting requirements; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • Develop project schedules from planning phases till completion of the projects
  • Monitor contractors and suppliers ensuring guidelines are maintained and deadlines respected
  • Monitor the progress of the project and establish a communication schedule between all parties concerned
  • Ensure that the project deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level of quality
  • Evaluate the outcomes of the project as established during the planning phase

 

Your Role in Quality Management

  • Review quality, environmental and safety objectives as required with Management
  • Ensure that all procedures and standards are properly documented with the appropriate reference
  • Carry out internal audits to ensure that quality standards are being properly followed and corrective actions taken as per deadlines
  • Assist third party auditors during re-certification and surveillance audits

 

 

Your Profile

 

  • Holder of a Degree in Engineering from a recognized institution with specialization in Project Management
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience in industrial and construction sector.
  • Technical skills in various fields associated to industrial projects such as civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, automation and control.
  • Good communication skills in French and English, written and spoken.
  • Excellent leadership and negotiation skills.
  • Know how of tendering and industrial process
  • Sound knowledge of Contracts Management
  • Knowledge of the ISO 9001:2008 Quality Standards would be an advantage
  • Good planning skills with the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
